Meagan O’Toole Pitts (She/Her) has been writing since 1991, when she was 5. The first piece of fiction Meagan wrote was a children’s book, illustrated by her brother Sean. Today, she is an award-winning-journalist-turned-playwright-and-director who began working in television, film, and the theatre arts after working as an entertainment reporter for several years in El Paso, Texas. Meagan founded the theatre company Lustre Theatre. The company’s first show debuted in El Paso on July 19, 2019. Later in 2019, she was awarded a grant from The City of El Paso to write and produce “NO MÁS,” a radio play inspired by the true story of Carmelita Torres and the 1917 Bath Riots. “NO MÁS” was released in English and Spanish in 2020 and 2021. This is her first published children’s book. Meagan is inspired by her family, which includes her 96-year-old tia abuela Elvira, her 4-year-old niece Iris, and her one-year-old nephew Lochlan.

Ashton Kaleigh (Kay-lee) (She/Her) is an artist and art instructor originally from El Paso, Texas. Her artwork has shown nationally and she has works in private collections internationally. Additionally, Ashton teaches private art lessons in her hometown and online. She is a member of the El Paso's Finest Collective and has works available for purchase at El Paso's Finest shop in downtown El Paso.
Ashton has been painting for over eighteen years in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and digital. Her original paintings are surreal, playing with symbolism to comment on various aspects of the human condition and current societal issues. When she has time, Ashton also takes commissions for custom art such as portraits of people and pets, murals, poster/album art, illustrations, and other unique requests.
Ashton's love of art was cultivated early. Her mother was a talented artist and passed that love and passion to her children in various ways. Ashton loved both Japanese and Western comics since childhood and dreamed of being a comic book artist before getting into fine art.
